River Valley Scenic Drive

The River Valley Scenic Drive in New Brunswick includes the western portion of the province bordering the state of Maine. This Scenic Drive joins Edmundston on New Brunswick’s northern border with the Province of Quebec and Sussex in the south. Along the way, this drive passes through major potato growing country, the provincial capital, Fredericton, and rolling pastures.

 

Come celebrate life on the River Valley Scenic Drive! New Brunswick music festivals pay tribute to all types of music from Baroque to Jazz and Blues. While other local festivals honuor the potato, trucks, Highland Games, and the hot air balloon. The La Foire Brayonne, Canada's largest French festival outside of Quebec, is a great reason to eat well. The Maliseet First Nations present two pow wows each summer. In winter, the village of Plaster Rock welcomes the World Pond Hockey Tournament. In February, the River Valley can be traveled by snowmobile.

 

In Hartland, drive across the longest covered bridge in the world. Ride the zip lines at Grand Falls and at Mactaquac, and explore the Loyalist and regiment buildings in Fredericton and the Living Historical Village of King’s Landing.
